Unai Emery Confirmed New Arsenal Boss

After the Frenchman stepped down after 22 years in north London the Spaniard replaces Arsene Wenger in the Emirates hot-seat. Emery, 46, left French side Paris St Germain at the end of their campaign following a two-year stint during which he won one Ligue 1 title and four domestic cups.

Super Eagles’ coach Gernot Rohr is happy with the resounding victory over Argentina but wants the players to stay humble.

He believes beating Argentina does not make Nigeria favourite to win the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Rohr said, “It’s good victory for us but it doesn’t mean we’ve become favourites to win the world cup. We stay humble and realize we have more work to do.

Gov Ayade Inaugurates 2016 Calabar Carnival Village

 

The governor of Cross River state, Mr. Ben Ayade on Thursday inaugurated the `Calabar Municipal Garden’ which will serve as the 2016 Calabar Carnival village, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports. Ayade said that the village was chosen because it was central and accessible to residents and tourists. The governor said the village would serve as venue for funfair and market for Christmas shopping. He said that adequate security measures had been taken to safeguard tourists and fun seekers at the village.
