Islamic group slams Governor Wike for declaring Rivers a Christian state

The Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, has slammed the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, for declaring the state a Christian State.

Recall that Governor Wike during a crusade organized by the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Church in Port Harcourt, a few days ago, declared Rivers a Christain State.

Reacting to the declaration, the Islamic human rights organisation in a press statement signed by its Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, said the governor’s statement is ''audacious, unguarded and reckless.''
“At a time when Nigeria is facing religious and ethnic crises, a state governor still has the temerity to declare his state a Christian state.

Pope Francis trips and falls over during Holy Mass at the Jasna Gora shrine in Poland

Pope Francis during a mass fell over as he arrived at the Jasna Gora shrine in front of millions of people watching around the world.

Mr. Ukwuoma performed the ceremony shortly after a mass attended by the Bishop Emeritus of Orlu Diocese, Gregory Ochiagha, and more than 100 priests at St. Aloysius Parish Abajah compound on Friday.

One Obinna Onuoha, who donated the Jesus statue, had constructed 2, 000 seating capacity parish church at St. Aloysius in the year 2012.
