A Lecturer at the Delta State University, Abraka and publisher of the popular monthly magazine – “Sapele Times,” Dr. Nyerhovwo has been reportedly kidnapped by unknown persons along Eku-Abraka.
Also kidnapped with the Lecturer is a Sapele- based lawyer, Desmond Dudu.
Dr. Tonukari’s car was recovered where it was abandoned, a week after he was declared missing.
A member of the family in Sapele in a pathetic mood, bemoaned the absence of his elder brother, who, he claimed is one of the best academician in the state.
He said that he had a flair for writing which eventually led to the emergence of the “Sapele Times”, a monthly entertainment magazine renowned for its colourful coverage of event.; and pungent reports around Sapele and its environs.
A large number of his friends, who were seen discussing the incident at the Sapele Athletic club and at the popular spot, Mr. B expressed sadness and shock over the incident.
Also, the kidnap of a Sapele lawyer, Barrister Desmond Dudu has sent shock waves to members of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Sapele branch as they protested the incident during the demonstration around major streets of Sapele before a formal complain to the Divisional Police Officer in Sapele.
The chairman, Barrister Kerewi, said it was unfortunate that rather than appreciating the selfless services of lawyers in the area, some persons were capitalizing on the innocence and Godliness of its members to punish them through kidnapping and other forms of criminality.
